Assistant professor of Diagnostic Imaging

Catherine D'Helft is an assistant professor of Diagnostic Imaging with over 20 years experience of imaging veterinary patients. Catherine holds a BSc in Diagnostic Imaging, a PgCert in radiation safety, an MSc in Magnetic resonance imaging, a PhD in image optimisation and dose reduction,

Catherine’s work focuses on optimising radiographic protocols to improve animal care, minimize radiation exposure, and support effective diagnosis in exotic, small and large animals. Her passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge has made her a valued mentor, helping students and veterinary professionals deepen their understanding of radiography.

She is currently exploring the use of 3D printing and virtual reality systems as innovative educational tools, aiming to reduce the dependence on real patient involvement while enhancing patient welfare.

Catherine is also a founding member of EAVIP and is passionate about promoting and developing the veterinary imaging profession.
